Sventovit was the four-headed god of Arkona, the great temple on the Baltic island of Rügen, described in detail by the Danish historian Saxo Grammaticus around 1200.
His priests read the harvest in a horn of wine, and his sacred white horse was used in divination before war, until the temple fell in 1168. This charm draws on one of the best-documented Slavic cults.
